How it is calculated

Example: 720 unused contribution days give 240 benefit days. With €10,800 of bases over 180 days, full-time work and no qualifying children: daily base €60, monthly equivalent €1,800. The 70% amount is €1,260, capped at €1,225 for the first 180 days. From day 181 to 240, 60% gives €1,080 gross per 30 days.

Entitlements starting in 2026. LGSS article 266: conditions; 269: duration; 270: bases, rates and limits. SEPE publishes 2026 amounts. For full-time work: minimum €560 without qualifying children or €749 with them; maxima €1,225, €1,400 or €1,575 by category. Limits are adjusted to the confirmed average working fraction.

What is not included

This is a gross estimate, not a SEPE decision or net bank payment. Monthly amounts are 30-day equivalents, not a payment calendar. Contributions and income tax are not deducted. The 60% period is not shown unless duration exceeds 180 days. Exceptions, sanctions, extended reference periods and protected working-time reductions are excluded.
